After spending 20 years climbing and mountaineering all over the world, Managing Director and owner, Rod Baber, wanted to climb something closer to home and found the ideal location near Cirencester after a chance meeting in Scandinavia with The Cotswold Waterpark's Head Ranger. With the full support of The Cotswold Waterpark Trust Rod Baber set up the UK's only High Ropes Educational Centre within the Cotswold Waterpark.
Rod has extensive experience in both education and climbing. From teaching Aboriginals he became a high ropes course instructor for the Armed Forces and In2Action. Within this role he also became a facilitator for accelerated learning within schools, commerce, the RAF, and HMPYOI's.
He has worked as a qualified Vertex High Ropes Trainer for 10 years and recently attained the ERCA TTT Instructor certification. Throughout his career he had also been a semi-professional mountaineer attaining world records both in Europe and the Himalayas. Outside work he dedicates his time to his family and fundraising for severely disabled and ill children.
With Shannon’s background in youth work and outdoor sports including hiking, climbing, kayaking, zip-ling and bungee jumping she has the perfect experience to both put you at ease and energize you at the same time. Following her move from Malta to Bristol in 2015 she became Head Supervisor for Go Aloft at ss Great Britain and is now Head Instructor at Head4Heights. 'I love being outdoors -H4H offered me the chance to train as an ERCA instructor at different high ropes sites and I've never looked back!'
Deputy Head Instructor
At college Emma excelled in physical education focussing on helping to plan and deliver lessons, coach rugby and teach dance. She loves working with people and being part of their experience to help them achieve their goals. As one of our two head instructors at H4H’s she designs and delivers programmes for all our groups, supporting everyone no matter whether they want to keep their feet on the ground or climb as high as they can!
All our instructors are trained and qualified to the highest standards in the High Ropes Industry as set by AAIAC, EN15567 and ERCA. Their broad experience varies from teaching, work within outdoor education and the armed forces. H4H strongly believes the reason that over 95% of our customers return on a second visit is due to the positive energy that all our instructors naturally have.
In spite of the recession and the fact that last year was one of the wettest years on record H4H has not only survived but continues to grow! We opened a new site - ZooRopia - at Bristol Zoo in 2009 and it is now the busiest adventure park for 5-12 year olds in Europe. We continue to work with an extensive range of customers from FSTE500 organisations to local primary schools and youth groups. With almost every customer coming back for more we think we must be doing something right!
H4H is presently now looking to expand with another new location as we continue to grow onwards and upwards.
